Who we are.
We are avid gardeners turned farmers. We are an artist and a nomad demonstrating the importance of place. We are conservationists creating a diverse ecosystem of plants and animals. We have a small farm in Floyd, Virginia that we share with sheep, goats, and fowl and where we grow an array of herbs, vegetables, and fruits in a sustainable and biologically-friendly manner.

What we do.
We grow heirloom and heritage varieties of vegetables and herbs, many from our own seed. We raise rare and native breeds of animals, with an emphasis on those that are good foragers, mothers, and multi-purpose. We make pickles, snacks, teas, and candy from the products we grow. We create architectural mosaics of many shapes and sizes. We offer classes, discussions, retreats, and experiences from the philosophical to the practical issues of connecting to our environment.
|
Why it matters.
In our ever increasing global and mobile world, we believe it is important to connect people to a place, teach them about their impact on that place, and show them how to be more sensitive to their environment while still enjoying the bounty that life offers. Diversity is critical to the health of the planet, and we strive to foster that diversity on our farm.
